Yes, totally. I really can't do things halfway. Sometimes I wish I could though, I wish I could be a bit more mellow or that I could work at 60 percent, but it doesn't work for me. That's why I really get along with filmmakers because they often have the same kind of all or nothing, let's go attitude. They have a fearless approach rather than playing it safe. That's why I really get along with people that have a bit of a mad approach: let's see how far we will go and how far this will take us.
Is that true even if you have a smaller supporting role?
Sure, it’s about something bigger than yourself. You Won’t Be Alone is probably the smallest part I've done, I mean, I was only in that for 15 minutes, but it's one of my favorite films I’ve done because I was sharing the part with five other actors. It’s been a week since Noomi Rapace finished shooting her new thriller Unlocked alongside Michael Douglas and Orlando Bloom. Her lead character, a CIA agent, has been described as a female version of Jason Bourne. The shoot was physically exhausting and went on for almost four months.
”It was the toughest shoot I’ve ever experienced. I’m used to being able to just make my mind up and tell myself ‘come on, no whining, you can do it’, but working on this movie was really pushing it. I run around fighting, trying to stay alive, escaping, saving people, hunting people down.”
”On the last week of shooting, one of the camera men said to me ’I don’t think I’ve ever seen a leading lady look so bad’.” (Laughs.)
What did he mean?
”That I was all messed up and bloody. I don’t believe in looking sexy, pretty and polished if you’re fighting for your life. I mean, when did you have time to get ready and put on mascara? Everything I do has a basis in reality. But I’m still surprised that it works, just being me, that they don’t want me to change. That make
